What’s Worth Streaming: Here’s what’s new to Amazon’s Prime Video in August 2022

Amazon’s Prime Video has a fairly quiet August release schedule, ahead of the impending premiere of the massive “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” in early September.

But that’s not to say the cupboard is bare. The Amazon

streaming service will roll out “A League of Their Own” (Aug. 12), a series reboot of the classic 1992 movie, this time starring Abbi Jacobson, Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Roberta Colindrez as women who finally get a chance to play professional baseball in the 1940s.

There’s also Season 3 of “Making the Cut” (Aug. 19), the international fashion competition hosted by Tim Gunn and Heidi Kulm; the music documentary “Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby” (Aug. 26); Season 2 of the crime comedy “The Outlaws” (Aug. 5); and the original movie “Thirteen Lives” (Aug. 5), based on the true story of how a group of Thai scouts were rescued from the depths of a cave, starring Colin Farrell and Viggo Mortensen.
